Quiz Bowl finishes third

Perkins County Schools hosted the SPVA Conference Quiz Bowl Tournament on Tuesday, March 15.

North Platte St. Pat’s finished first with a 6-0 record. 

PCS tied with Sutherland with 4-2 records, but tiebreaker rules dictate that whoever won the head-to-head matchup gets the higher placing. Therefore, Sutherland finished second and PC finished third.

All team members competed in at least two matches.  

Deanne Bishop said six team members correctly answered toss-up questions and all members contributed ideas on the bonus questions.  “Today’s result was a great, team effort,” said Bishop.

Team members include:  Jacob Woodmancy (Captain), Nathan Kemling, Matt Wendell, Karen Ruiz, Bryce Grothman, Jaci Kurkowski, Kenyon Gaar, Zach Malmkar, Jack Kohl and Chris Terry.

The next tournament will be the ESU 16 District Tournament in Sutherland on April 10.
