Quiz Bowl team qualifies for State

Perkins County Quiz Bowl Team worked hard on Saturday March 26th to be District Champions at North Platte for the ESU 16 District Quiz Bowl Tournament. This tournament was a bracket-style, double elimination. As if that isn’t enough pressure, thirteen other schools also participated in the meet including, Hyannis, Sutherland, Wallace Stapleton, Hershey, McPherson County, Arthur County, Thedford, North Platte St. Patricks, South Platte, and Ogallala. They won all four rounds that they competed in. The first round was a “by” round, meaning they did not compete. In round two, they defeated Sutherland 40-5. In round three, they defeated Wallace, 70-0. In the semi-final round they defeated North Platte St. Patricks 50-20. To win the tournament, they defeated North Platte St. Patricks again 55-15.
