Richmond and Bishop receive PCS Foundation grants
Jill Richmond and Deanne Bishop are the 2018-19 recipients of the Perkins County Schools Foundations grants.
Richmond, a third-grade teacher at PCS, plans to use the grant money to purchase grade-level reading books for elementary students who qualify for summer school.
She will mail the books to students in June and July and hopes the books will help students avoid the “summer reading slide.”
PCHS Science Teach and Curriculum Coordinator Deanne Bishop plans to purchase a Pathfinder STEM Hydraulics Kit to use in her experimental science and physics classes.
The kit includes enough reusable tubing, syringes, dowels and pieces to create builds of various types. This will give students the opportunity to learn about hydraulics in an exploratory, hands-on way.
