Sihm is March senior

Ethan Sihm of Grant, Neb., senior at Perkins County High School, has been chosen as the March senior of the month. He is the son of Ole and Rochelle Sihm.

Ethan has been active in sports, academics and the community throughout his high school years.

He participated in football, basketball and track; and has been a member of Boy Scouts, becoming a Star Scout his sophomore year.

Ethan has worked at Hendricks Flying Service over the past three summers, is employed as a student intern at Hi-Line Coop, and has his own lawn mowing business. Ethan feels his work experience has taught him the value of time management.

Ethan is most proud of being elected captain of the football team his senior year. Football is his favorite sport and its has helped to push him to be a leader, he said.

Ethan values the life-long friendships that he has made while at Perkins County High School.
“The community has made me a better person throughout my life,” Ethan said, “They have supported me through sports and other activities.”

Ethan has given to the community through handing out phone books, putting up Memorial Day flags and helping with Eagle Scout projects.

Following high school, Ethan plans to enroll in a nine-month welding program,  and join the workforce after becoming a certified welder.

For being chosen Senior of the Month, Ethan’s picture will be on display at the Pinnacle Bank entrance.
