The September senior of the month honor has been given to Hailey Snyder, daughter of Steve and Michelle Snyder of Grant.

Throughout her high school career, Snyder has been involved in numerous activities including cross country, basketball, track, concert band and marching band. Her junior and senior year have also seen her as a member of student council.

Her participation in such activities has resulted in several high honors. She lettered in cross country three years so far, and was a state qualifier her sophomore year.

Basketball has also proven successful for Snyder, as she has lettered three years to date and was captain of the team her junior year.

Three years of lettering in track and being a track leading scorer is also on Snyder’s list of accomplishments.

She has lettered in academics three years running, as well as qualified for academic all-state, and lettered in music. She also qualified for state FFA.

Outside of school activities, Snyder is an active member of her church where she participates in Bible school, youth group and FCA.

Snyder works hard for her employers as well, which include Snyder’s Worms, cleaning the church, Westview, Subway and several babysitting jobs.

Snyder plans to go to UNK or Chadron, and would like to pursue nursing or physical therapy. “I really want to help people and I also really like kids. I think whatever I go into, I would really like to specialize in pediatrics,” she said.

For being selected Senior of the Month, Snyder’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant. She will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.

The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
