Wallace heads back to school Aug. 14
Wallace students will return to school on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 8 a.m. CT.
The kindergarten meet and greet and seventh-grade open house will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 3-4:30 p.m. CT.
Parents can stay informed on school activities by downloading the Wallace Wildcat app, available on Android and iPhone.
Lunch prices increased 10 cents from last year, making elementary lunch $2.65 and secondary lunch $2.90.
After piloting a successful breakfast program last semester, the board voted to continue the program for the 2019-20 year. Breakfast cost will stay the same at $1.80.
Due to low participation numbers, Wallace had to forfeit their varsity eight-man football schedule this season. They are planning on playing four JV six-man games.
• Laura (O’Brien) Brown, a Wallace graduate, will be teaching third grade. She has been teaching in the North Platte Public School system.
• John Kershaw will be teaching history and assisting track. Kershaw worked as a teacher, coach and administrator for Hitchcock County Schools.
