Wallace Schools welcomes three new staff members

Three new staff members have joined Wallace Public Schools this year, filling the positions of pre-school teacher, 7-12 Social Studies, and paraprofessional.

Molly Smith joins the district as a new, first year teacher. Her husband, Quentin, is a Deputy for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The couple has three children, Stella, 3rd, Sam, 1st, Henry, preschool.

The Smiths moved back to Wallace from Lincoln two years ago. Molly has previously worked in the social work field for 12 years, and is now working towards her provisional teaching certificate and eventual degree.

“I am so excited to begin this new chapter,” Molly said.

Matt Pracht is from Broken Bow and attended Doane University earning a degree in both Secondary Social Science Education and History. Pracht met his wife  while at Doane, and they were married after graduation. Pracht’s wife is a  music teacher in Sutherland.

“I was very excited to even get an interview with Wallace, let alone a job here,” Pracht said. “Both my wife and I were happy to get teaching jobs back in the west where we grew up.”

Tammy Hollibaugh grew up in Wallace, graduating from Wallace High. She said she never thought she would find herself living back in Wallace.

“I worked as a para down in Kansas, but I missed my family, so I decided to move back to the family farm,” Hollibaugh said. “I was able to get a job at the school as a para educator, and I am loving it.”
