Wallace speech takes Class D victory

Wallace’s speech team placed fourth at Sutherland on Saturday, Feb. 8 with a total of 21 team points.

Four participants earned medals across six events, with Hailey Brooks taking medals in each of her three speeches.

“The experienced students saw great success this week and the novice students gained needed experience,” said Coach Samantha Garrison. “We have several students on the cusp of breaking finals, which I anticipate will happen later this month.”

The team also celebrated their assistant coach, Mrs. Kathy Fowler’s birthday on Saturday with a song and a cupcake.

The Wallace team will next compete at the North Platte Blue and Gold meet on Feb. 15 followed by the varsity only RPAC competition in Cambridge on Feb. 19.
