Micah Swedberg and Hannah Robertson

Wallace students selected for FFA Honor Choir

Hannah Robertson and Micah Swedberg had the privilege of representing Nebraska and the Wallace FFA chapter by singing in the National FFA Honor Choir during the National FFA Convention.

They were two of the 15 Nebraska students who made up the 86-piece choir. The students arrived in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon for their week-long adventure. They rehearsed Saturday evening, Sunday and Monday and began performing on Tuesday.

The choir performed at most of the sessions during the convention and presented a concert along with the FFA National Honor Band on Friday evening. The highlight of the experience took place on the last day of the convention.

During the final session, President Trump made an appearance and spoke to the large crowd. The choir had just performed so they remained on the stage during his speech. As President Trump entered the stage, he stopped to shake hands with some of the choir members. Hannah Robertson was one of the students to get to shake his had as he entered and when he exited.

The extra details that go along with the President of the United States being at an event caused things to run long so sponsor Mrs. Kemp and the choir students missed their flight on Saturday evening. They made the most of the situation by visiting the Indianapolis Speedway on Sunday before flying home.
