Wallace students Sing Around Nebraska

The Nebraska Choral Directors Association once again sponsored the 2018 Sing Around Nebraska Children’s Honor Choir. The event took place Nov. 2-3 at the O’Donnell Auditorium at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.

The choir of 100 fourth, fifth and sixth-grade students, was selected from across the state through an audition process.

Selected from Wallace School were Paige Franklin, Ryleigh Hanson, and Ashley Robertson.

They rehearsed with and performed under guest clinician, Ms. Adrienne Broyles.

Ms. Broyles is a member of the artistic staff of the St. Louis Children’s Choirs.

She has presented choral workshops and served as a guest conductor/clinician throughout the country.

The students had prepared seven assigned songs which they rehearsed Friday evening and all day Saturday.

That evening, they performed the selections to a packed auditorium.

Also performing at the concert were two of the Nebraska Wesleyan choirs.

The concert consisted of the SAN Children’s Choir along with the Wesleyan Choirs singing together.

It was a perfect way to end a very entertaining and well-presented concert.
