The third quarter both teams stepped up on their defense, making the quarter scoreless. Cole then made a touchdown in the fourth quarter to secure the win for the team.
Head Coach Brendan Geier praised the team’s defense and the youngsters on the team for being flexible when there was an unexpected injury. “We had a good week of practice and our kids showed up ready to play against a much improved Kimball team. We went on a long, time consuming scoring drive to start the game which set the tone for the rest of the game. Defensively, we limited them to one score for the entire game. Due to our injury situation, we had a lot of younger kids playing. And those kids did a good job of stepping into their new role,” Geier said.
