Caden Waitley ran a career personal best at 17:12.67 to finish in first place.

Jaden Dietlein and Nathan Kemling medaled sixth and seventh respectively.

Matthew Hahn, Evan Sestak and Jarin Tines all placed in the top 20.

Hailey Snyder ran a career personal best at 23:08.47, but finished just out of the medals in 11th place.

Coach Paula Wurst said the weather conditions were ideal, and 16 runners had personal best times.

“SPVA was a super exciting race day for our runners. It is always nice to run on our home course, with our fans encouraging us. We really appreciate the way our teachers, parents and friends in this town come out to help cheer on the teams!

“I always hope the runners are prepared to run their best as we compete at conference and again at districts. It was exciting to watch everyone run so well,” said Wurst.
