Brueggeman takes fourth in Bridgeport

Two meets for the Perkins County Lady Plainsmen golfers last week leaves them just one more meet before districts. 

Ogallala

Sept. 19, Coach Shawn Cole and golfers Peyton Woodmancy and Kyla Brueggeman to Ogallala where they competed against 17 other schools at the West Winds Golf Course. 

Brueggeman took 53 strokes on the way out, and 58 on the way in for an individual total of 111.

Woodmancy started off with 58 strokes, and took 62 in for a day score of 120.

Neither score was enough to earn either Lady Plainsmen a spot on the top 20. 

Scottsbluff was the big winner of the day, taking the first place spot with their team score of 340, and their own Shelby Poynter earning the lowest score individually with 70 strokes. 

Bridgeport

Thursday, Sept. 21, Woodmancy and Brueggeman traveled to play the course in Bridgeport against 10 other teams. 

Brueggeman came home with her fewest strokes of the season, with just 94, which was enough to earn her fourth place. 

Woodmancy had her second lowest number of strokes for the season with 117, though it wasn’t enough to put her in the top 10 individually. 

Next action

The last meet for the Lady Plainsmen before districts will be Sept. 26 and be held in Benkelman beginning at 9:00 am.

The time and place for districts has yet to be determined, but will be on Oct. 2.
