Cats fight to the end in close game with Raiders

Wallace experienced another close game that went down to the wire. The Wildcats were in Curtis to take on the Medicine Valley Raiders for the fierce competition.

The Raiders had the upper hand as the game got underway. After the teams exchanged baskets to start the game, Med Valley went on a run putting up the next four baskets.

The Cats clawed their way back with five different players finding five different ways to score. Blake Pelster got a bucket off the glass and Jared Sullivan hit a floater. Logan Rosentrater got a put back and Ty Maline and Micah Swedberg each nailed a 3-pointer.

The Raiders were holding on to an 18-14 lead as the defensive battle in the second quarter got started. Rosentrater got an early bucket off an inbound play and then it was nearly three minutes before another basket was made.

The Raiders eventually got a couple of put backs and Wallace got a free throw. Before the quarter ended, Med Valley hit a jump shot to take a 24-17 lead into halftime.
