Coach Cole and PC Plainsmen ready for first games this week

Head Coach Shawn Cole is back for his 11th season with the Perkins County boys basketball team.

This season will see 16 boys suit up and hit the court for the Plainsmen.

Four seniors will lead the team with Jaxon Livermore joining returning players Aaron Fay, Tanner Burge and Spencer Ross.

Alex Patrick, Caleb Lagler, Ethan Clarmont and Alex Poppe will make up the juniors on the team, while sophomores include Ian Picquet, Bryder Hickey and Irvin Reyes.

Joining the team are freshman Jeb Kohl, Triston Hite, Erik Snyder, Jordan Mireles and Hayden Foster.

Assisting Coach Cole again this year will be Jeff Skeels and Brent Turner.

Student managers include Maddox Lee, Ben Skeels, Ryder Potts and Alex Cole.

Last year the Plainsmen boys took the trip to Lincoln for the state championship and fell to Ponca 72-29, ending their season with a 16-8 record.

“We are going have a lot of new faces playing this season. We have four guys returning with a lot of playing time last season.

“We will have some younger kids who are going to have to step up and play some varsity minutes,” Cole said.

The first game will be Thursday Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. MT in Hershey.

Friday will be the first home game, when Wray comes to PC for a 7 p.m. game. See next week’s issue for results from the first week of play action.
