Five Plainsmen wrestle at Gordon- Rushville meet
Plainsmen wrestling coach Tanner Collins planned on taking eight wrestlers to Gordon-Rushville Saturday but two got injured late in the week and another came up sick.
The five wrestlers who made the trip did something they haven’t done this season or last—all five finished with winning records for the meet.
A total of 21 teams participated in the meet, so many of the 16-man brackets were full, Collins said.
Wrestlers are limited to five matches per meet so Kannon Palu, Brandon Knoles and Ashton Myers did not wrestle in their final match in the bracket.
Colton Pouk, Knoles and Ashton Meyers each finished in fifth or tied for fifth.
Palu finished in sixth and Austin Meyers finished in seventh.
Collins said Jace Wid should be back this week, along with Trye Hickey and Kyler Bullock when the team travels to Sutherland for another 20-plus team meet.
Collins said they have been working hard in practice to get in shape and having four to five matches Saturday helps with that conditioning.
