The Perkins County Plainsmen girls golf team, represented by Lexi Fisher and Jacqueline Gloy, traveled to Cambridge on September 18 to compete at Cross Creek Golf Course.
Facing one of the longest 18-hole courses in Nebraska, the duo rose to the challenge. Jacqueline Gloy led the way with an outstanding performance, shooting a 91 to capture first place and bring home the medal. Teammate Lexi Fisher also turned in a solid round, helping showcase the strength and consistency of the Plainsmen golfers.
Head coach Jorje Geisert praised the team’s effort on a demanding course. “The Perkins County golfers attended a quad meet in Cambridge on Thursday. This 18-hole golf course is one of the longest in the state, but our girls did very well. Gloy received the first-place medal with a 91. We continue to work on our short game and expect to perform well at Crandall Creek on Tuesday,” Geisert said.
The Plainsmen will be back in action on Tuesday, September 23, at the Crandall Creek Golf Course in Ogallala. They will then travel to Bridgeport on Thursday, September 25. Full results from those meets will appear in the next edition of the Grant Tribune-Sentinel.
