Golf season winding down

The Perkins County girls’ golf team placed seventh in a tough field at the Ogallala Invite Sept. 20. at Crandall Creek Golf Club.
The Plainsmen didn’t have any medalists. Jacqueline Gloy finished 22nd with a final score of 109 to lead PCS. Emma Klahn was two strokes back at 111, Sarah Cockerill finished the day at 114, Kaitlin Meyer totaled 116 and Ella Uehling was at 122.
As a team, its score of 445 was the best of the season.
Besides the six Class A and B schools, the Plainsmen got a look at district opponents Chadron, Creek Valley, Dundy County Stratton, Garden County, Hershey, Kimball and Mitchell.

The Plainsmens’ final invite of the season was Wednesday at Dundy County Stratton.
Districts will be held Monday at Kimball. Also at the district will be Bayard, Bridgeport, Gordon-Rushville, Mullen, North Platte St. Pat’s, Southwest and Valentine.
The top 10 golfers individuals, plus any top 10 ties, will qualify for state.
Class C State Golf will be Oct. 10-11 at Elks Country Club in Columbus.
