Golfers second at quad

Perkins County took full varsity and JV teams to the Southwest Quadrangular Thursday.

Held at Curtis’s Arrowhead Meadows Golf Course, the quad also included Hershey and Dundy County Stratton.

PCS Head Coach Kelly Smith said his team played well.

The Plainsmen placed second behind Hershey, 238-208. 

Kaitlin Meyer placed second for Perkins County. Meyer was three strokes back of Hershey’s Eva McCreery.

Jacqueline Gloy was also a medalist with a 10th place finish, as was Emma Klahn in 12th place.

Also competing were Sara Cockerill and Ella Uehling.

With eight JV golfers on the course, Smith said there will be some shake up on that squad. Layla Vigil was first on the JV results.

Thursday the team will be at the Bridgeport Invite.

The final regular season invite will be Sept. 28 at Dundy County Stratton, before districts are held Oct. 3 at Kimball.
