The Peru State Bobcat football coaching staff has announced its commits for the 2018 fall campaign, which includes Charles Johnson at quarterback/wide receiver.

Johnson will join 40 newcomers and 80-plus returners at fall camp in early August.

Peru State’s head coach, Steve Schneider, who is heading into his seventh season at the helm, is cautiously optimistic about the group of newcomers and how they will blend in during fall camp.

“We work very hard to identify individuals who can come in and be successful, not just in the football program, but in the academic side of the house,” Schneider said.

The Bobcats will open on the road at Hastings on Saturday, Aug. 25. Peru State’s first home game will not be until Sept. 15 when Evangel, Missouri is the opponent in the Oak Bowl.
