Johnson is the top scorer of the 2016-17 Plainsmen season

On Monday, Feb. 27, the Perkins County Plainsmen traveled to North Platte where they fell to the Southwest Roughriders in the final round of districts. 

The 14-11 Roughriders will travel to the Lincoln Southwest high school on March 9 to play in quarter finals against the St. Cecilia Bluehawks who hold a 21-5 record and are ranked 20th in the state. 

Semi-finals are March 10 at Devaney Sports Center, with finals held the following day, March 11, at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. 

The loss to Southwest ended the Plainsmen’s 2016-17 season with a final record of 14-11.

Charles Johnson was the team’s top scorer, with a total of 270 points, Josh Johnston came in second with 184 and Michael Beck had the third highest points with 179 up for the Plainsmen.
