Lady Cats seniors honored at Southwest game

The Lady Cats suffered a close loss against the Roughriders, 61-54. Mariah Gardner was the top scorer in Tuesday’s game with 20 points. Wallace then went on to play Hitchcock County on Feb. 14, where they again were defeated, but only by six points. The final score was 49-55 leaving Wallace’s record 6-12 coming into sub-districts. Pelster scored 18 points in this game and was the Lady Cats’ top scorer of the game. Above, Lady Cat Denay Pelster, a sophomore at Wallace, goes up for her shot past the Hitchcock County defense. Sub-districts began on Monday, Feb. 17 where Medicine Valley earned the first D2-10 victory against Paxton. Medicine Valley was Wallace’s first opponent of the tournament, and they played on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The winner of that game will move on to play the winner between Brady and Wauneta-Palisade’s game. The final sub-district game will be on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Wallace girls basketball seniors Sydney Pelster, Haley Lundvall and Quinn Koop were honored at the Southwest game on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
