Lady Plainsmen add win to record

It was a big week for Coach Steffen and the Lady Plainsmen. They played three games and were able to add a win to their record, now 1-7.

PAXTON

On Tuesday, Dec. 12, the Lady Plainsmen hosted the Paxton Tigers, the opponent who gave them their first win in over a full season in last year’s match-up.

History repeated itself this year, and the PC girls took their first win of the season, this time on their home court.

PCS offense put up 11 points in the first, with two baskets each for seniors Sydney Wilson and Maggie Earl, and one for Dani Burge and another from Laura Dreiling.  Perkins County’s defense held the Tigers to just four points.

The Lady Tigers didn’t get a shot in until three minutes into the second, and only after PC had already put up five. Hailey Snyder hit the net taking the Lady Plainsmen to 18 and at halftime, a 10-point lead.

Though Paxton managed to get four points in the third, Wilson and Kyla Brueggeman both hit shots keeping PC up by 10 points. 22-12 was on the board going into the fourth.
