Lady Plainsmen ready for season

The Lady Plainsmen volleyball team will kick off their season this Thursday in Chappell. 

Head Coach Monica Cole is heading into her second year as head coach and 11th year with the team. 

With 20 on this year’s team, Cole said there is a lot of potential for a lot of players, and she’s excited to see growth in all of them. 

“With having everyone back from last year, we are planning on fine tuning our team with chemistry, team work, encouragement and being successful,” she said. 

Cole said the SPVA tournament is always one they look forward to as they host and it’s fun to play on their home court. She added they have a few new teams on the schedule this year, so they are anxious to experience those games as well.

Cole is assisted by Brooke Lee.

Players include:

Seniors—Makenzie Toner; Bella Frazier.

Juniors—Dani Burge, Rylee Huff, Hannah Kempf, Miah Long, Savannah Schmitt;

Sophomores—Meghan Bishop, Kristen Bullock, Kaylee Dilsaver, Hallie Fisher, Maddy Ingold, Juels Lyon, Sam Patrick, Kiara Schulze;

Freshmen—Gracie Loy, Mallory McClenahan, Kylie Tucker, Mackayla Wallin.

Managers include Hannah Bishop, Ava Seger, Madison Potts, Macey Cole and Rowan Lee.

The team will take on Creek Valley and Sutherland in a triangular in Chappell on Thursday, Aug. 29 beginning at 5 p.m.
