The Perkins County Lady Plainsmen traveled to North Platte on Friday, January 9, to take on North Platte St. Patrick’s, coming off a strong win against Hemingford on January 3. The Lady Plainsmen carried that momentum into Friday night’s matchup, putting together a dominant performance on both ends of the floor.

Perkins County jumped out to an early lead, scoring 13 points in the first quarter while holding St. Patrick’s to just six. The Lady Plainsmen continued to build their advantage in the second quarter, adding 12 more points as St. Patrick’s again managed six, sending Perkins County into halftime firmly in control.

The third quarter saw more of the same, with the Lady Plainsmen scoring 13 points and limiting St. Patrick’s to five. Perkins County closed out the game with an 18-point fourth quarter, while allowing just five points defensively, to secure a convincing 56–22 victory.

Junior Ella Homan led the Lady Plainsmen offensively, finishing the game with 11 points. Sophomore Addison York made her presence known on the boards, pulling down 10 rebounds. Madison Potts dished out four assists, while senior Hannah Bishop and Homan each added three assists to the team effort.

Head coach Deanne Bishop praised her team’s all-around performance following the game.

“This game was a solid team effort,” Bishop said. “The girls did a good job sharing the ball, looking for open teammates, and quite a few of the girls contributed to points and/or assists. Our rebounding was solid, and that limited NPSP’s opportunities. Defensively, we had quite a few deflections and steals.”
