The second period saw the PC defense hold Sedgwick County to just two points, which came in the final minute of the quarter, after PC had gone on a seven point run which included three free throws from Maaliao, two from Earl and a basket by Sydney Wilson. At half time, PC trailed by just four points, 14-18.
A 3-pointer in the first seconds of the third by Maalio, followed by a basket from Wilson was enough to give PC the lead by one, 19-18, until SC drew a foul and tied the game.
