Lady Wildcats end season at first round of sub-districts

On Feb. 12, the Wallace Lady  Wildcats played the South Platte Knights in the first round of sub-districts at Prairie View School in Ogallala.

The Wildcats struggled from the very beginning of the game. The South Platte Knights out-scored the Wildcats every quarter. The first quarter was 13-5. 

During the second quarter, the Wildcats scored eight more points. This wasn’t very helpful though, because the Wildcats were getting tired and not closing out on the defensive end. 

The Knights scored 11 points in the second quarter. The next two quarters were 12-9 and 16-10. 

The final score was 52-32. The leading scorer for the Wildcats was Hailey Brooks, a sophomore guard, who lead the team with 13 points. Twelve of Brooks’ points were from behind the arc and she made four of six three pointers. 

The Lady Wildcats end their season at 2-16.
