Long, Peterson place at Hitchcock County; team takes third

As the season nears the end, the Plainsmen have two more invites under their belts and they look ahead to their final regular meet in Ogallala this week. 

On Tuesday, May 4, the team traveled to Hitchcock County where they had a successful day with two players placing top ten individually and the team in the top three. 

Thursday, May 6th at Kimball the team competed against 11+ other teams and came out in eighth. 

HITCHCOCK COUNTY

Will Long was the top scorer of the day at Heritage Hills in McCook after taking 45 strokes on the first nine, and following it with 56 coming back in earned him a sixth place finish at 101.

Storm Peterson was a stroke behind finishing the day with a 102 for an eighth place victory. 

Seniors Kyle Feuerborn and Ian Picquet ended the day at 119 strokes, and 123 respectively. 

Also participating was Eli Busick with 145 strokes.

Thursday at Four Winds Golf Course it was Peterson with the lowest score of the day. Peterson took 43 swings on the front, and 50 on the back for a day total of 93, just five short of a top ten finish, and a personal best for Storm.

Long finished the day at 110 followed closely by teammate Picquet who closed the day with a 114. 

Busick wrapped up with a 125, and Feuerborn with a 130.

NEXT ACTION

On Thursday, the Plainsmen will head to Ogallala for a 9 a.m. tee-time. 

Ogallala is the last invite before districts in McCook on the 17, followed by State in Kearney the 26-27.
