Med Valley takes Wallace 49-0

The Wallace Wildcats started their 2017 football season last Friday with 16 athletes on the roster. At the helm, is third year head coach Rich Lee along with his assistants Michael Buchanan and Shawn Sullivan.

Senior leadership is strong for the Cats this year. They have five experienced individuals represented in key positions. Offensively, Jared Sullivan returns as the starting quarterback. Ty Maline is back as a receiver and Logan Rosentrater and Nathan Manary return to positions on the line. Eldwardo Pacheo comes in as a much needed backup for the linemen.

Each of these young men also take care of business on the defensive side of the ball as well. They lead the team in many valuable ways.

Assisting the seniors are juniors Kaden Hager, Blake Pelster and Micah Swedberg and sophomores Dylan Kuhlman, Nathan Ogier and Alfredo Vega. Five freshman complete the roster and include Ethan Bowlin, Tanner Finley, Hadley Johnson, Brandon Rosentrater and Kaden Scott.

With the roster completed and a couple of weeks of practice in the books, the Wildcats kicked off their 2017 season last week against a tough Medicine Valley team. The Raiders entered the game with some valuable experience as well and it seemed like they had an answer for everything that Wallace did.

Med Valley returned the opening kickoff to their own 24-yard line where they started their opening drive. They were able to march down the field and with 9:44 remaining in the opening quarter, they scored their first TD on a quarterback keeper. With a successful 2-point conversion, the Raiders took an early 8-0 lead.
