PC team places eighth to end season; Wallace sending Sayer to state
Though the season didn’t end as the team might have hoped, the Plainsmen golfers wrapped up with another season of experience and an eighth place finish at districts on Monday, May 17.
Will Long was the top scorer of the day finishing with a score of 99 - enough to give him a 15th place finish. Long took 46 strokes on the front nine, and followed with 53 on the back.
Storm Peterson was a stroke behind finishing the day with 51 shots up front, and 49 coming back, for a total score of 100 which landed him the 16 spot.
Long and Peterson missed the top ten and a trip to state by just three and four strokes respectively.
Seniors Kyle Feuerborn and Ian Picquet ended the day at 115 strokes, and 122 strokes respectively.
Also participating was Eli Busick with 127 strokes.
WALLACE GOLFER STATE BOUND
Wallace senior Hadley Sayer earned a trip to state as the only entrant for the Wallace golf team.
Sayer shot just 45 strokes on the first nine holes and came back with 48 strokes on the back nine to finish with a day score of 93, enough for the trip to state.
Sayer will compete at the State Golf Tournament in Kearney on May 26 and 27.
