PC volleyball opens season with back-to-back games

The Lady Plainsmen volleyball team opened their season last week with back-to-back games Thursday, Aug. 31 and Friday, Sept. 1.

On Thursday, Perkins County traveled to North Platte St. Pat’s where the Irish defeated the Plainsmen in three sets, 25-10, 25-8, 25-5. 

On Friday, the Plainsmen made the trip to Amherst where they were defeated by the Broncos in three sets, 25-19, 25-12, 25-17.

Coach Erica Turner said the team played better on Friday and as scores reflect, the sets were closer and more competitive versus Amherst than North Platte St. Pat’s. 

On Tuesday, Sept. 5, the Plainsmen traveled to Wallace for a triangular to take  on the Wallace Wildcats and Hitchcock County Falcons  The team will travel to Cozad Saturday, Sept. 9 for the Cozad Invitational where they will see the Broken Bow Indians, Cozad Haymakers, Gothenburg Swedes and Ogallala Indians.
