PC wrestlers medal two

Perkins County traveled to Sutherland on Saturday, Dec. 16 to compete against 20 other wrestling teams.

Jack Kennicutt and Emilio Perez earned third and fourth respectively.

Kennicutt pinned three of his opponents in the first period, losing only his second match by fall to take the bronze in the 170-pound class.

Perez pinned his first opponent in the second period and his third opponent in the third and final period to claim fourth in the 285-pound class. He lost his second and fourth matches by fall.

Other PC wrestlers receiving a win and contributing to the team’s 42 points include Carson Thelander, Caden Waitley, Trye Hickey, Jace Wid and Isaias Perez.

Head Coach Dustin Stodola said he felt the team competed well given the level of the competition.

Beau Wood was out all week due to illness so they felt it best to give him time to recover.
