PCS boys sit 1-1 going into week two of basketball

Coach Cole and his Plainsmen opened the season with two games last week.

Hershey traveled to Grant on Thursday Nov. 30 for the Plainsmen home opener, and PCS traveled to Wray on Friday Dec. 1 where they played the Eagles.

Though Hershey got the first basket of the game, the Plainsmen were able to get the answer and after a basket from Michael Beck, Josh Johnston went on an eight-point run that included a 3-point shot for PCS.

Tyson Patrick also made two shots, and after two good free throws from Charles Johnson and one from Beck, the Plainsmen boys had the lead at the end of the first, 17-13.

The PCS offense continued into the second, which kicked off with Patrick at the free throw line. Junior Aaron Fay hit the net taking the Plainsmen to 21, before Johnson added a basket.

Spencer Ross hit a trey, which was followed by two in the bucket, one from Tyson Patrick and the other from Johnston, before Beck closed out the half with a 3-pointer, four free throws and a basket just seconds before the buzzer.

At halftime, the Plainsmen were up 39-27.
