Perkins County brings home four medals from Omaha

Perkins County had an outstanding showing at the NSAA State Track and Field Meet in Omaha on a cold and rainy weekend Friday and Saturday, May 19-20, competing in six events and bringing home four event medals in Class C.
The 400 relay team consisting of Seniors Bailey Schrotberger and Bryce Wilson, Junior Charles Johnson and Freshman Alex Patrick, finished with a time of 44 seconds to take the bronze in their heat and overall.
Schrotberger took first in his heat in the 100 preliminaries with a time of 11.30, and finished with a sixth place medal in the finals with a time of 11.2.
Senior Kiffen Cook, Sophomore Domonic Wendell, Schrotberger and Wilson made up the 1600 relay team, which took fifth in their heat and sixth place overall with a time of 3:31.
Wilson’s time of 52.9 earned him an eighth place medal in the 400 finals. He earned his place in the finals by finishing second in the preliminaries with a time of 51.77.
Sophomore Jaden Dietlein finished 18th in the 3200 with a time of 10:47.1 and Freshman Evan Sestak cleared 5-10 in the high jump, finishing 15th.
