Perkins County Competes at SPVA Conference

Perkins County Track Team traveled to Imperial, Nebraska for their SPVA conference on May 2nd. “I thought the kids performed really well. We didn’t have the field event points we needed to finish runner up in both,” said Head Coach Shayne Hite.
BOYS
Ryder Potts placed second in the 200 meter race. He then placed first in the 400 meter race followed by Colton Kroeker in third.
Mason McGreer earned first in the 800 meter race followed by Brock Tines in third place. McGreer also earned first in the mens 1600 meter race. In a close second, came Elijah Goodell and in fifth place was Ethan Swesey. Exact same placings apply to the 3200 meter race as well.
In the 4x100 meter relay the team of Miles Knapp, Luke Minster, Basile Cornet, and Carson Green finished fifth.
Team of Kroeker, Rylee Shrotberger, Tines, and Potts finished second in the 4x400 meter relay.
In the 4x800 meter relay, team of Goodell, Tines, Schrotberger and McGreer won first place.
Preston Schwanebeck placed fifth in the discuss. Schwanebeck also placed fourth in the pole vault.
GIRLS
Libby Cole ran for second place in the 400 meter race.
Madison Potts won first place in the 1600 meter race.
Savannah Miller earned fourth in the 3200 meter race.
Ella Homan won first place in the 100 meter hurdles. She also won first in the 300 meter hurdles, followed by Kam Klockman, and Morgan Day in fourth and fifth respectively.
In the 4x400 meter relay, team of Cole, Ava Seger, Haylea McGreer, and Homan finished second place.
Team of Emily Cornelius, Hannah Bishop, Miller and McGreer won third in the 4x800 meter relay.
Jacqueline Gloy threw to finish in third place in the shot put.
Klockman placed second in the High Jump followed by Cole in fifth place.
NEXT ACTION
The team traveled to Sutherland to compete at the Best of the Midwest Track Meet on Tuesday, May 6. Results will be in future issues of the Tribune.
