Perkins County defeats Sutherland 54-16

The Perkins County Plainsmen Football team played Sutherland Sailors on the home field last Friday, September 26. 

They started off strong right away with Carson Green running for a touchdown. Green also was able to successfully get the two point conversion. The first quarter was dominating with Plainsmen earning 32 points in the first quarter, while the Sailors earned 8. Momentum continued in the second quarter. Preston Schwanebeck started right away with a touchdown. They scored 22 throughout the quarter and prevented Sailors from scoring. In the second half of the game, Sailors stepped up their defense and Plainsmen did not score again. 

However, it was not enough. The Plainsmen’s dominating lead in the beginning won them the homecoming game victory. The final score was 54-16.

Next Action

Plainsmen will load up the bus to Kimball High School on Friday October 3, to play the Kimball Longhorns at 7 pm.
