Perkins County Plainsmen set new record in boys’ 4x100 relay

Boys finish second at SPVA and Dundy County

The Plainsmen finished last week with second place medals at the rescheduled SPVA conference meet on May 2 and the Dundy County Stratton Twilight meet on May 5. 

Bailey Schrotberger took first in the 100 and Bryce Wilson finished second in the 400 with Kiffen Cook following in third at both meets. 

The three took first along with Charles Johnson in the 4x400 relay at SPVA. 

Schrotberger also took first in the 200 at SPVA with Alex Patrick claiming third in the event at Dundy County.

Finishing second at Dundy County was Caden Waitley in the 800 and Christopher Terry in the 300 hurdles. 

Jaden Dietlein placed second and third in the 3200 at Dundy County and SPVA respectively.

Scoring points for the girls were Hailey Snyder and Jaci Kurkowski, and the 4x400 relay at SPVA. 

Snyder and Kurkowski placed second in the 400 and shot put at SPVA respectively.

New 4x100 Record

Bailey Schrotberger, Bryce Wilson, Charles Johnson,  and Alex Patrick finished first in the 4x100 relay at both meets and set a new school record at the Dundy County meet with a time of 43.84.

The previous 43.9 second record was set in 2008 by Josh Wall, Jay Wall, Curt Softley and Tim Burge.

The Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen will travel to Mitchell on Thursday, May 11 to compete at the C-11 district meet for a chance at state. Competing teams include Bayard, Bridgeport, Chase County, Dundy County-Stratton, Hemingford, Kimball and Mitchell.
