Perkins County takes six boys and two girls to CCS Wrestling

The Plainsmen traveled to Imperial Saturday for the Chase County Wrestling Invitational. Four of the six varsity wrestlers returned with medals from the meet. Both boys that wrestled in the JV division also medaled.

Carson Green finished secon in the 132 pound division. Ernesto Perez took fifth at 215 pounds. In the JV division, Dylan Bruce finished first at 165 pounds and Wyatt Adams was third at 150. 

For the girls Emry McGreer took fourth at 110 pounds and Haley Dunn finished fifth at 190.

Josiah Mireles wrestled at 215 and Issiah Dunn at 285, but were unable to medal.

Individual results

132 Carson Green (17-13): won by major decision over Jaqueb Hoover (CC) 15-5, won by decision over Bryant Zimmerman (Mor) 8-2, pinned Luke Wetherington (Bay) 2:47, was pinned by Drake Arensdorf (SP) 4:55 for second place.

150 JV Wyatt Adams (8-14): was pinned by Bryson Fischer (SC/F) 1:05, won by major decision over Morrison Tooley (Sid) 15-7, pinned Ethan Keszler (BP) 1:10, was pinned by Noah Compton (BP) 0:47 for third place.

165 JV Dylan Bruce (7-10): pinned Theron Erickson (HC) 0:42, won by decision over Caleb Heskett (SW) 20-16, pinned Gabriel McCrumb (W/P) 1:50 for first place.

215 Ernesto Perez (21-9): bye, pinned Jose Chavez (Mor) 2:36, was pinned by Anthony Estrada (Bur) 1:31, was pinned by Davien Hanson (McC) 0:49, won by major decision over Kiva Clark (SC/F) 11-0 for fifth place.

215 Josiah Mireles (2-13): was pinned by Davien Hanson (McC) 0:45, bye, was pinned by Jose Chavez (Mor) 2:11.

285 Issiah Dunn (6-14): pinned Angel Stands (Bay) 2:56, was pinned by Zach Tarin (CC) 1:30, pinned Varrick Fresquez (Bur) 4:26, lost by decision to Joseph Johnson (Sid) 5-9.

Girls

110 Emry McGreer (8-23): pinned Serenity Herrera (Sid) 3:56, was pinned by Jazzmyne Hardin (Mor) 0:45, was pinned by Chloe Smith (Yuma) 2:55, pinned Eva Drauker (Og) 1:59, was pinned by Annlyn Wilson (SP)0:08 for fourth place.

190 Haley Dunn (19-13): bye, pinned Maria Rodriguez-Hernandez (McC) 1:47, was pinned by Skylar Johnson (Pax) 1:02, was pinned by Natalie Koetter (SW) 2:27, pinned Maria Rodriguez-Hernandez (McC) 2:40 for fifth place.
