Perkins County wrestlers medal eight at Chase County

Perkins County wrestlers returned home from Imperial on Saturday, Jan. 13 with eight individual medals. 

Eleven wrestlers traveled the short distance to compete in the Chase County Invite against 13 other teams. 

Junior Beau Wood took first place in the 182-pound class to remain undefeated at 19-0. He pinned his first three opponents and beat Logan Coalson of Bridgeport by decision in the championship match, bringing Coalson’s record to 19-2.

Senior Jack Kennicutt placed second in the 170-pound class, winning his first three matches and falling in the championship match to Evan Fischer of Chase County. 

Sophomore Carson Thelander won two and lost two to claim the bronze medal in the 103-pound class.
