Perkins County hosted the Maywood-Hayes Center Wolves on Thursday, February 20, and earned a 54–42 win. The Plainsmen took a 12–9 lead after the first quarter and continued to build momentum in the second, outscoring the Wolves 14–9 to carry a 26–18 advantage into halftime.

Perkins County delivered its strongest stretch in the third quarter, putting up 17 points while holding Maywood-Hayes Center to seven. The Wolves attempted a late rally by scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter, but the Plainsmen maintained control to secure the 12-point victory.

Sophomore Cade Kroeker led the Plainsmen with 14 points. Myles Bishop dominated the glass with 9 rebounds, while Alex Cole contributed 3 assists.

Head coach Corey Potts praised his team’s effort and physicality.“Once again, we got off to a slow start offensively but were able to get stops on defense to keep us close during the first quarter, then the shots started to drop,” Potts said. “The boys transitioned off their defensive stops really well, but if that got taken away, they were very patient to get the shots we needed. I thought our kids played very physical and battled to keep control of the lead all the way through the game. It was a great win to end the season and a special night as we honored our seniors Myles Bishop, Colton Kroeker, and Rylee Schrotberger before the game.”
