Plainsmen compete in Gothenburg

After a two week break, the Plainsmen girls golfers headed to Gothenburg to compete at the Wild Horse Golf Club against 66 players from 14 other schools.

The top player of the day was Shelby Poynter from Scottsbluff who shot a 70. Taking first place as a team was Ogallala with a team score of 349.

Perkins County’s own Kyla Brueggeman was tied for 33 with a day score of 102.

“My struggles came from the very fast greens in Gothenburg. I drove the ball very well. I was surprised by the outcome. I did better than I thought I would. It was very hot that day. I am looking forward to Ogallala because I have played that course quite a bit,” she said.

Peyton Woodmancy took 60th place with a total of 127.

PCS traveled to Ogallala on Tuesday, Sept. 19 and the results of that meet will be published in next week’s issue.
