Plainsmen golf team competes against Creek Valley at first meet

The Plainsmen boys golf team headed to Chappell for their first competition this season on Wednesday, March 28, after it was bumped up a day due to the winter storm that was expected to hit Thursday.

Coach Troy Kemling said they were able to avoid most of the rain and even had some sunshine.

“Our scores were higher than practices were indicating but it was still a very cool day,” he said.

Senior Tyson Patrick had the lowest score of the day with a 41. Aaron Fay took second place with 45 strokes.

Josh Johnston and Jacob Woodmancy tied for third, both with 46.

Kemling said “You can see there will be tight competition for the top five varsity positions this year.”
