Plainsmen split 1-2 last week

After three games last week, the PC Plainsmen took their record to 4-3.

PAXTON

The then 3-1 Plainsmen hosted the 4-0 Paxton Tigers on Tuesday Dec. 12.

Height was an immediate advantage for Paxton as 10 of their 14 players stand 6’2 or taller, the tallest being sophomore Blake Brewster at 6’9.

Plainsman Josh Johnston put up five points in the first and Charlie Johnson added four. Contributions from Spencer Ross and Tanner Burge saw PC up at the end of the first, 13-11.

The second quarter saw 12 points go up for PC, however, the defense had allowed the Tiger offense to not only catch up, but take the lead at half time by one point, 26-25.

It was a low scoring third quarter, where the Plainsmen’s shots seemed to struggle to go in the basket. One in the bucket and one from the free throw line gave PC three points in the third. The defense had held Paxton to just six points, which was enough to give them a four point lead.
