On April 17, the Perkins County Plainsmen traveled to Sutherland Public Schools to compete in the Sutherland Invitational Track Meet. Unfortunately, the wind was challenging.

However Coach Shayne Hite was proud of how his athletes persevered through the wind. “It was a windy day. It was good to have some weather to create some adversity for our athletes to compete in. Most handled it well. Got a little chilly towards the end. This was our toughest meet so far so it was a good meet to see where we are at so far. Had some records go down even in the wind so that’s a good sign we are on track,” said Hite.

Despite weather conditions both girls and boys teams finished 3rd out of 14 teams.
