Red Cloud dashes Lady Wildcats’ state tournament hopes

Shannon Messersmith’s Lady Wildcat basketball team wanted to break a 21-year state tournament drought. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be this year.
The Lady Wildcats fell to the Red Cloud Warriors 52-22 in the district final played in Lexington Friday.
While they may not have broken the drought, the Lady Wildcats turned in one of their best seasons in years. They finished the season with a 17-7 mark.
Messersmith couldn’t say enough good about this team.
