Kayla Reichenberg finished in seventh place at Bridgeport after shooting a 104, her best 18 holes of the season and a 25 stroke improvement over her score from the same course last year.

Reichenberg takes seventh at Bridgeport meet

Junior Kayla Reichenberg led the Lady Plainsmen golfers at the Bridgeport meet Sept. 24. 

She finished in seventh with a 104, her best 18 holes of the season and a 25-stroke improvement over last year’s score at Bridgeport. 

Sarah Cockerill turned in a personal best for the season with a 130, 21 strokes better than her score at Ogallala.

Kayton Breuggemann finished with a 115 and Emme Sims careded a 141. 

As a team, the Lady Plainsmen finished fourth in the six-team meet with a total score of 490. 

Mitchell won the meet with a 394 followed by Kimball with a 405. Bridgeport was third with a 468.

The medalist was Payton Wise of Kimball with an 82. 

Ogallala meet 

The girls played in the Ogallala invitational on Sept. 22 where they finished ninth out of a 10-team field with a 527. 

Reichenberg led the team with a 120, followed by Brueggeman with a 124.

Sims finished with a 127 and Sarah Cockerill recorded a 155.

The girls complete the regular season this week at Dundy County Stratton.

The girls will then compete in the C-5 district meet at Crandell Creek Golf Course in Ogallala on Monday. 

Teams include Bayard, Bridgeport, Creek Valley, Dundy County Stratton, Garden County, Gordon-Rushville, Hershey, Kimball, Mitchell, Mullen, Ogallala, Perkins County and Valentine.
