Perkins County’s Kiffin Cook and Derek Sis helped power the Carlie Wells-coached West team to a 38-20 win over the East on Saturday at Hastings Community College.
It was a low scoring first half. Although the East scored on its first possession, the West defense didn’t allow any more points until the fourth quarter. The East team led 8-6 at halftime.
The West side wasted no time taking over the game in the third quarter, scoring on its opening possession at the end of a four-minute drive.
After blocking an East punt, the West quickly scored once more. After the West scored early in the fourth quarter, the teams alternated touchdowns over the final 7:35 of the game.
Sis rushed 10 times for 54 yards. Cook played on defense.
Ryan Boldt served as an assistant coach.
