Tigers claim win over Lady Wildcats by 7

The Wallace Wildcats lost to the Paxton Tigers on Jan 12, with a score of 33-40.

The first quarter was tough for both teams. Paxton had only a one-point lead going into the second quarter with nine points. The Wildcats struggled defensively to stop the Tigers from scoring. 

Going into the locker rooms at halftime, Paxton led 25 to the Wildcats score of 15. 

During the third quarter, the Lady Wildcats managed to out-score Paxton by two points. 

The fourth quarter was a battle for the Wildcats. They scored 12 more points on the Tigers, who scored 11. Unfortunately this wasn’t enough to win the game. 

The leading scorers for the Wallace Wildcats were Hannah Nelson with 14 points and Ansley Wood with eight points.

Next action

The Lady Wildcats’ played the Dundy County Stratton Tigers at home on Tuesday, Jan. 16. 

On Thursday, Jan. 18, the Wildcats will travel to Stapleton to face the Broncos at 4 p.m. CT.

The team will compete in the first round of the RPAC tournament in Trenton against Maywood-Hayes Center on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. The winner will play on Monday, Jan. 22 at 7:45 and the loser will play at 4:15 p.m.
