The Wallace track teams continue to set personal records and meet records as the season progresses.Trey Robertson PRd in the 3200 meter run at the Paxton Invite Thursday and set a facility record in the process.

Robertson also set a facility record with his first place finish in the 1600 with another PR.

Dajana Garrison won the 3200 with a PR and Brooke Bryant had a second PR in as many weeks to win the triple jump.

Both were great PRs, Head Coach Danielle Snider said.

Snider was also happy with personal bests by Masen Messersmith in the long jump and Conner Kennicutt in the triple jump. Messersmith placed third and Kennicutt sixth.

Messersmith also finished third in the 200 meter dash and fourth in the 100 meter dash.

Mariana Aceves-Lopez is starting to find her stride in her events and Kendyl Flaming had a season record of 16.61 in the 100 meter hurdles, Snider also pointed out.

Flaming also won the 300 meter hurdles and high jump. Mallory McConnell was second in the high jump with the same height as Flaming.

The girls team had five events with at least two in the top six. That depth helped give them the team title by four points over Maywood/Hayes Center, 105-101.

Between the boys and girls teams, Wallace had 17 PRs, including 11 by athletes who placed.

Despite the strong performances, Snider said none of the athletes are satisfied they want to keep pushing, working and aiming for new goals.

They’ll get that chance at this week’s RPAC championships.

The Wildcats will travel to Benkelman Thursday for the meet.

The Best of the Midwest will be Tuesday.

Snider said she loves the meet at Sutherland.

“It is close to home, athletes are familiar with the track and see strong competition not long before districts,” she said.
