Wauneta-Palisade, Brady and Medince Valley invaded Wallace Tuesday night for the first round of the D2-9 subdistrict.

First round winners will play Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for a berth in a district game.

The Wildcats, as the tournament’s top seed with a 7-12 record, played WP (3-17). MV (4-16), the second seed, played Brady (5-18).

Wallace finished it regular season Friday with a 80-32 home win over Creek Valley.

The Storm also only suited up seven players. While all seven Wildcats scored in the game, only three Creek Valley players did.

Matt Lungrin made two 2s and two 3s in the first quarter totalling 10 of Wallace’s final 12 points of the quarter.

After six points in the first quarter, Trey Robertson made six of the Wildcats’ first eight points of the second quarter.

Wallace led 39-16 at halftime.

Five Wildcats scored at least four points in the third quarter and six players scored in the fourth.

Robertson led Wallace with 22 points and Lungrin scored 20. Masen Messersmith and Riley Strawder also finished in double figures with 12 points each.

Strawder, Robertson and Jason Fisher each had eight rebounds. Robertson had nine assists.
